Hybrids might be known for fuel-saving capabilities, but performance reigns supreme in the rx 400h. The lexus rx 400h can reach 60 mph in 7. 3 seconds, tow up to 3,500 pounds, and achieve up to 26 mpg city/24 mpg highway. Pretty impressive for a 4,300-pound vehicle. It's also a lexus, which means it's extremely comfortable. The ride is pleasant and steering is easy. Road noise and wind noise is minimal on the highway. This suv zooms confidently and effortlessly from a standstill to highway speed, and it's difficult to discern exactly when the gasoline engine comes into play. The rx 400h gasoline engine switched off automatically and the car ran completely on electricity when either stationary, decelerating, or being driven at slow speeds - less than 40 mph. A viscous center coupling in the awd system can transfer power fore or aft from the normal 50/50 split to instantly compensate for changing traction conditions. The interior is very lexus like: clean, luxurious and simple. The rx 400h space-efficient cabin has a quality appearance with an impressive level of fit and finish. The leather upholstery, signature optitron electroluminescent gauges and real wood trim are complemented by a major assortment of comfort and convenience touches. A rich wood grain trim creates visual warmth, and a dual climate-control system makes sure everyone in the rx is warm enough. The backseat is roomy and comfy for people big and small alike.
